REFUND AND RETURNS POLICY

TERMS AND CONDITIONS ON ENGINES AND GEARBOXES

Customer Obligations

  • All engines must be fitted by a qualified and RMI-registered mechanic.
  • Customers must install new oil, oil filters, thermostats, spark plugs, coolant, and other necessary components during installation.
  • The radiator must be flushed, and all water pipes, water pumps, seals, and gaskets must be checked and replaced as needed. (No warranty applies to oil leaks.)
  • All cam belt engines must be installed with a new timing belt before installation, as per manufacturer specifications.
  • Belt-driven engines must have a new timing belt installed and correctly set before fitting. (No warranty on timing chains or belt-driven engines.)
  • Valve clearance and timing must be checked and adjusted accordingly.
  • It is the customer’s responsibility to verify parts for compatibility, proper sizing, and application before installation.
  • LM assumes no liability for parts incorrectly installed due to ordering, packing, or shipping errors.

Standard Warranty on Engines and Gearboxes

  • 3-month unlimited kilometer warranty on internal components only, effective from the date of purchase.
  • 7-day warranty on turbos.
  • No warranty covers any attached accessories or components, including but not limited to:
    • Manifolds, carburetors, distributors, alternators, turbos, superchargers, water pumps, starters, thermostats, clutches, flywheels, timing belts (for belt-driven engines), seals, or sensors.
  • No warranty on fuel injectors (petrol or diesel), as they are classified as electrical components, which are not covered.
  • No warranty on oil leaks.
  • No warranty applies to broken gears or burnt gearboxes caused by low oil levels.
  • A new spigot shaft bearing must be fitted during gearbox installation.
  • Used Transmissions Warranty:
    • Manual gearboxes: 3 months (internal parts only).
    • Automatic gearboxes: 2 months (internal parts only).
    • (Releasing bearings and master slaves are not covered; correct oil must be used for the warranty to remain valid.)
  • Start-up warranty applies to all high-performance engines.
  • No warranty on head gasket failure or engine overheating due to poor maintenance.
  • Engines purchased for modifications or modified vehicles are not covered under warranty.
  • Engines and gearboxes must not be stripped without prior approval. Unauthorized disassembly will void the warranty.
  • If an issue arises (e.g., bearing knock, excessive smoke, unusual noise in the block or head), contact your sales consultant immediately.
    • Proof of the fault (video or images) must be sent to the sales consultant for further action.
  • Ensure the prop shaft is correctly balanced, as damage to the extension housing is not covered under warranty.

Limitations

  • Purchasing a second-hand engine or gearbox comes with inherent risks.
  • This warranty does not cover:
    • Accidental damage, misuse, collisions, fires, negligence, modifications, racing, improper installation, or repairs.
    • Vehicles with aftermarket software or tune-ups.
    • Consequential damages, labor costs, courier/delivery charges, downtime, towing fees, freight expenses, vehicle rentals, or insurance claims.
    • Oil leaks, blown head gaskets, and overheating due to an inadequate cooling system.
    • Bent valves, lock-up, or backfire caused by a broken timing belt or incorrect timing setup. (A new timing belt must be fitted before installation.)
    • Internal damage resulting from foreign objects entering the combustion chamber.
    • Any failure or damage caused by external factors, including but not limited to: incorrect fuel, contaminated fluids, overheating due to faulty cooling systems, improper installation, and lack of regular maintenance.
    • Electrical issues, faulty wiring, or vehicle-related malfunctions that result in engine or gearbox failure.
  • Proof of compliance with these conditions must be provided to LM if a claim is made.
  • Claims must be accompanied by:
    • A valid invoice
    • Clear images or video evidence of the issue

Refunds and Exchanges

  • No refund will be issued without an original invoice.
  • Delivery, courier, and labor costs are non-refundable.
  • Deposits are non-refundable. (Lay-buy option is available for 3 months.)
  • No cash refunds will be provided.
  • A 15% handling fee applies to correctly supplied goods returned.
  • Approved refunds will be processed within 7-14 working days after management review.
  • A 3% handling fee applies to refunds for payments made via card facilities.
  • A 7-day exchange policy applies for defective engines. A replacement engine will be provided within this timeframe.

Final Notice

LM strives to supply quality used engines and gearboxes. However, it remains the customer’s responsibility to ensure proper installation and maintenance. We strongly advise professional installation and thorough inspections before use to avoid unnecessary issues.
